Our company was founded in May of 2001. In response to many laws that were passed outlawing large tour buses operating in the French Quarter and historical neighborhoods, Southern Style Tours & Transportation, LLC. purchased small vehicles in order to continue the indepth, innercity experience that all tourists and locals must see to understand this unique city.

Southern Style Tours is dedicated to give tourists the opportunity to experience the wonderful culture, food and hospitality New Orleans has to offer.

Our mission is to provide accurate, historical information to the masses of visitors that tour the City of New Orleans. Our company will share with tourists the innovations created here in New Orleans and the impact they still have on the world today. There were many firsts that were either invented here or the inventors chose to debut them here. Just to name a couple, Thomas Edison was a great inventor. He invented the Vitascope which was the fist movie projector. Two men, Walter Wainwright and William T. Rock opened the first Vitascope hall in the country July 26, 1896 on Canal Street, becoming the first permanent movie theater in America. Also, New Orleans was the site of the first pharmacy in America. Not surprisingly, it was a pharmacist, Antoine Amedee Peychauds, who invented the cocktail right here in New Orleans at 437 Royal Street in the 1830's for his fellow Masons.
